This ASTM E2058 combustion flammability testing equipment determines and quantifies material flammability characteristics related to the propensity of materials to support fire propagation.

Product Overview
This fire-test-response standard determines and quantifies material flammability characteristics related to the propensity of materials to support fire propagation using a fire propagation apparatus (FPA). The main parameters measured include time to ignition, mass loss rate, heat release rate (chemical and convective), and smoke generation rate.
The testing scope covers various materials, components, final products, and many types of polymer materials, but is not suitable for explosive objects. Test results from the flame propagation calorimeter evaluate specific material flammability, providing necessary basis for flame propagation speed and fire growth modeling, risk assessment, architecture and product design, and materials research and development.
