The YYF008 Surface Flame Spread Test Apparatus is designed for British building materials and high iron flame retardant testing standards. This precision instrument determines the classification of surface flame spread for construction products in compliance with BS 476-7 standards.

Application & Classification
The test method involves igniting samples in the combustion chamber using gas-fired radiant panels and medium-sized gas burners. Radiation intensity is maintained at 32.5kw/m² at 75mm distance. Samples are exposed to radiant heat for 10 minutes, with flame propagation levels recorded at 1.5 and 10-minute intervals. Results are classified into four grades, with Grade 4 materials representing high fire risk and unsuitable for building applications.
