ISO 5659 2 ASTM E662 NBS Smoke Density Test Chamber

The ISO 5659-2 / ASTM E662 NBS Smoke Density Test Chamber measures the optical density of smoke generated when a test specimen of a specified thickness is exposed to a radiant heat source or open flame inside a sealed chamber. The ASTM E662 furnace delivers a heat flux of 2.5 W/cm² (2 kW/m²), while the ISO 5659 conical radiant heater allows adjustable irradiance levels of 10 kW/m², 25 kW/m², or 70 kW/m² to meet different testing requirements.
