During testing, the specimen is fixed at a 45-degree inclined angle and exposed to a specified #22 needle flame. The system automatically records burning time, and operators calculate burning speed based on the preset burning distance. The qualified burning rate shall not exceed 1.2 inches per second, calculated from the average of 5 longitudinal tests and 5 transverse tests.

The machine features a stainless steel enclosed cabinet with a transparent viewing window that isolates flame and smoke effectively while allowing testers to observe the entire burning process safely. A built-in photoelectric sensor provides non-contact automatic timing capture, avoiding the abrasion and damage associated with traditional contact trigger structures.
